Rocks on Killing Stalking
reading killing stalking in 2023 is pretty late, but i finally decided to experience it myself (even if i knew most of the plot points), and wow.
i honestly think it's one of the most dreadful experiences i've ever, EVER had while reading a manhwa. i couldn't explain how i was so torn up for a few days after because killing stalking really just did something to me.
spoilers to literally everything below.
what i liked about killing stalking - it's how it depicted a clearly abusive relationship, between two people who were genuinely, fuc*** up. the character writing in my opinion, is amazing. i couldn't begin to describe my dread in the later chapters when it was clear both sangwoo and yoonbum's mental state was clearly the most unstable it was - especially sangwoo.
sangwoo's character had made me feel so much. while i do want to hate him, i can't help but feel so much sadness when i really think of him. i think he's a tragic character - yes, he's a misogynistic, sadistic killer and assaulter, but i still think he's one of the saddest characters i've ever read about. how he'll forever be haunted by his mother, and how he may of truly realized he could of liked yoonbum for who he truly is, he died tragically - and he did this to himself.
yoonbum and sangwoo's relationship is one of the most tragic ones ever to me. their relationship is abusive, and i don't ship them at all. but if i said there were no scenes that made me want to root for them, i would be lying. i don't know how i feel about this relationship - because truly, it's wrong, but i also felt as if i had never wished this wasn't a horror genre more, and for the both of them to just be happy.
overall, i loved killing stalking (surprisingly, i wasn't expecting to)! it was a genuinely dreadful experience that i wouldn't want to repeat - but i truly loved how the author wrote about this topic of mental illnesses and their downfalls.
+ reccomendation rating & added more in a comment below as well! ♥︎
