I'm giving 3 starts because it just makes me laugh so badly 😂 I mean it got a lot of trauma topics in it and it's kinda interesting, probably wouldn't recommend this to newbie, but it's ok i guess. Also it's kinda overrated, like i read a lot of cute and wholesome mangas in my bl list that were absolutely underrated and deserve better.

It was very toxic at first so i didn't really liked it, but then it came better and actually wholesome manga so I'm giving 4/5

Welcome to a new episode of Cooking With Ivern™️, the only show which uses organically-grown human meat for its recipes! Today's dish: the murim shonen!
A murim shonen is easy to prepare. First, you take your MC, then you shove a long wig on his head, a dozen of suspicious """elixir""" pills up his bu**, and then add a whole lot of Indiscriminate Violence™️. Finish it off with your chosen quantity of "Evolutionary Martial Realm", "Sword Qi" and a pinch of "Forbidden Heretical Art of Overpowered Bullshit". What does all this mean, anyway? FÜCK IF I KNOW! That's not the point, sweetie!
The point is, this manga has its own recipe. More precisely, it's more about the rational and steadfast conquest of an entire community than nonsensical beatdowns and non-stop action. Sure, it is murim shït, and like all murim shïts it loves its murim mambojumbo. But the focus is on the strategy behind MC's new rise to power, and the evolution of his morality. His story in a wild, known world, from a new perspective.
Gotta say, the writing is very good. When you are able to keep me interested and intrigued with only conversations between old men then you know your stuff, I concede. The twists it has are also fresh. A good plot, overall, but I would've liked more effort put in the characterization of its cast. It wouldn't have been out of place, and I felt it was outright needed.
So yeah. Little action. But when present, definitely competent. Fascinating power dynamics too. The cherry on top is the totally adequate art, which is pretty dynamic and perfect for a shonen, with some occasional quality peaks. A full 5 stars, with my recommendation.

hey ivern, just wanted to tell you to drop everything and catch up on this. chap 127 is the last chapter in s2. i just finished getting caught up since i read it a year ago and im blown tf away, the last 20 chapters or so are fuc**** amazing, i could rant all day and I hope you fuc**** love it bc imo i would no longer even consider comparing this with any murim manhwa other than LotNB

Its got comedy, horror and backstories to make you feel for all the characters. Good story from start to end 💗

I would have loved to give this one a 5 star.. but I have some thoughts.. I woukd have liked it if K ended up with C and J ended up with... R...?
I think, because they were first lovers, that's why they couldn't forget each other and somehow ruined something that was good for them, just because they thought what they had a long time ago would be the same in the present time. And that was a mistake. Everything happens for a reason.. and this show us to never go back to something that is lost.. the past cant bring us new joy, only the future with new opportunities can give us that joy.
