expected a genuine perspective from the banished individual, but instead found them depicted as an idiot, subverting the common trope of banished characters finding freedom.

The core issue lies in Athena's attempts to "save" the banished character by treating him poorly, leading to his imprisonment and near-death. The reviewer believes that if the focus was meant to be on the betraying party and themes of betrayal and skill vs. effort, the initial separation shouldn't have been amicable, making it impossible to sympathize with any of them.

Athena is criticized for not realizing the extent of the banished character's loss (home, friends, love interest) and for her lack of awareness regarding his broken state and the reasons behind his changed behavior, even while being rescued and supported by the new main character, Daru. The reviewer finds making the banished character (Est) the villain ineffective.

Daru is labeled the most detestable character despite being the supposed hero. His actions seem driven by ulterior motives, and he withholds crucial information that could resolve misunderstandings, particularly regarding Est's feelings for Athena. His behavior towards Est is perceived as intentionally antagonistic.

The other party members are described as boring secondary characters: an observant but often ineffective elf mage and an impulsive dragon girl.

Ultimately, the reviewer finds Est the only sympathetic character, wishing ill upon the rest of the group. The negative reception on manga sites and the cancellation of both the manga and light novel are attributed to the author's poor writing and the inability to make the supposed heroes likable.

Apparently it got axed around chapter 20 if its true, then it was a good decision. Overall: Mc got kicked out and focus got on the banisher side. Author tries to ruin childhood sweathearts and turn it into "hes powerful so she falls in love with the other guy" and the original mc turns evil. Its just ntr at this point since the scar guy doesn't bother to explain anything and gets pis*** off that the original mc thinks badly of them. Pathetic story. Shi*** execution. Zero interesting scene. Author saw isekai once and did some bu**sh**. Don't read thi

Don't bother 😂😂 I understand where the author was going with this, I do. On paper it sounds interesting, but it doesn't work for readers. Us as the viewers will always be more emphatic towards the outcast, since in general, most of us can relate. Now there's nothing wrong with showing both sides, it's basically what every story does now, not focus on one, but both. I just don't find a story, about how a group survives without the guy that was clearly helping them, and know that without him they're significantly weaker, but has the audacity to call him weak, interesting. This is just one big blob of hypocrisy. I hope the author focuses on their other work, and give this one a rest.
